葡萄糖酸鈉是一種多羥基羧酸鈉，用途十分廣泛，現(xiàn)就已經(jīng)被開發(fā)應(yīng)用方面的情況介紹如下：

1、用作水質(zhì)穩(wěn)定劑：
1. As water quality stabilizer:
由于葡萄糖酸鈉具有優(yōu)異的緩蝕阻垢作用，所以被廣泛用于水質(zhì)穩(wěn)定劑，例如作為石油化工企業(yè)循環(huán)冷卻水系統(tǒng)，低壓鍋爐，內(nèi)燃機(jī)冷卻水系統(tǒng)等處理藥劑。因為它有以下特異優(yōu)點：
Sodium gluconate is widely used as a water quality stabilizer because of its excellent corrosion and scale inhibition effects, such as circulating cooling water system in petrochemical enterprises, low-pressure boiler, cooling water system of internal combustion engine and so on. Because it has the following special advantages:
⑴具有明顯的協(xié)調(diào)效應(yīng)。適用于鉬、硅、磷、鎢、亞硝酸鹽等配方，由于協(xié)調(diào)效應(yīng)影響，緩蝕效果大大提高。
(1) it has obvious coordination effect. It is suitable for molybdenum, silicon, phosphorus, tungsten, nitrite and other formulations. Due to the coordination effect, the corrosion inhibition effect is greatly improved.
⑵緩蝕率隨溫度升高而增加。一般緩蝕劑隨著溫度升高而緩蝕率下降，甚完全失去作用。但葡萄糖酸鈉恰恰相反，緩蝕率在一定范圍內(nèi)隨溫度升高而提高，例如對炭鋼等材質(zhì)的試驗中，溫度從77℃F于上升到120℃F，其緩沖率平均提高5%以上。所以葡萄糖酸鈉這種奇異的特性，對較高溫度的體系或從低溫到高溫的變溫體系 ，作緩蝕劑使用 是十分理想。

⑶阻垢能力強(qiáng)：對鈣，鎂，鐵鹽具有很強(qiáng)的絡(luò)合能力，所以阻垢能力很強(qiáng)，特別對Fe3+有極好的螯合作用，甚在全PH范圍內(nèi)部有作用。
(3) strong scale inhibition ability: it has strong complexation ability to calcium, magnesium and iron salts, so it has strong scale inhibition ability, especially has excellent chelating effect on Fe3 +, and even works in the whole pH range.
⑷滅公害。使用葡萄糖酸鈉作為循環(huán)冷卻水緩蝕阻垢劑，達(dá)到滅公害，這是目前所使用的其他緩蝕阻垢劑無法比擬的優(yōu)點。

2、用做鋼鐵表面清洗劑：

鋼鐵表面如需要鍍缽、鍍鉻、鍍錫、鍍鎳以適應(yīng)特殊用途時，如制造馬口鐵，鍍鋅板，表面鍍鉻（電度）等，其鋼坯表面均需經(jīng)過嚴(yán)格清洗，使鍍層物與鋼鐵表面牢固結(jié)合，這時候其清洗藥劑中添加葡萄糖酸鈉將會達(dá)到十分理想的效果。這一點已經(jīng)被上制造馬口鐵的大公司所證實。

飲料工業(yè)，食品工業(yè)，釀造工業(yè)的日數(shù)以億萬計的玻璃瓶，如汽水瓶，啤酒瓶，牛奶瓶，罐頭瓶，醬油瓶，酒瓶等，其清洗工作是一項十分重要的事情，清洗劑的藥劑配方是一項難度較高的技術(shù)工作。目前國內(nèi)尚未出現(xiàn)一種比較理想的藥劑。主要存在問題有：去垢力不強(qiáng)，易堵塞洗瓶機(jī)的噴咀及管路；對瓶貼及瓶頸鐵銹去染力不理想；洗后微量殘留物對食用性不理想（如磷酸鹽殘留）；洗滌水排放成公害（不能符合規(guī)定之標(biāo)準(zhǔn)）。如在其玻璃瓶清洗劑的藥劑配方中改用葡萄糖酸鈉為主體，則上述問題均能迎刃而解。這方面的應(yīng)用國內(nèi)尚未開發(fā)，若形成市場，潛力很大。

水泥中添加一定數(shù)量葡萄糖酸鈉后，可增加混凝土的可塑性和強(qiáng)度，且有阻滯作用，即推遲混凝土的更初與更終凝固時期。
